I know what you are thinking: why have you left your 2020 goals post until February? Unfortunately, spare time has been a bit thin recently, and I’ve been having quite the endo flare up so any spare time I have has been spent in bed with Albert, re-watching Dawson’s Creek. But I still wanted to do this post because I have some huge plans for 2020! As well as my holidays to Lefkas, Milan and the Philippines, I want to get out and about doing fun things in London as well.
Focus on my Youtube channel
You’ve probably noticed that I am pushing my Youtube channel a lot more now on my Twitter and Instagram. I enjoy filming videos for my Youtube but towards the back end of last year, I was really struggling to find the time to film. I’ve decided in 2020 I am going to MAKE time. the last video I made all about my vitamin iv experience gave me a real push to think of some original content because the interview part with Julieann was so fun! The image I have used on this post is from my chat on camera with Julieann. I still have a long way to go in the editing department, but I feel natural on camera. It’s because I’m a show-off, basically.
Take care of my physical health
One of the worst symptoms I get form endometriosis is sickness. I’m waiting to see a gynaecologist in May to have a proper operation done to find out what my endometriosis is doing in there and what pain it is causing, but until then I am going to have to be careful with what I eat. I’ve done a lot of research into what foods flare up endo and found that gluten is the main culprit. The other week I was so unwell I got SENT home from work, so I am making an active effort to try and look after my physical health by maintaining a gluten-free diet and limiting the rubbish I eat. I recently ordered this gluten-free cookbook so I will let you all know what it is like.
Spend more time with my friends
I don’t know what I would have done last year without my group of close friends. I always forget how lucky I am t be in a group of 6 people that have been best friends for nearly 20 years. It makes me sad how being unwell has caused me to miss out on doing some things with them recently, but we have a weekend away to look forward to soon. You might remember my blog about Glamping at Lee Wick Farm.Well, stupidly, we are returning to the scene of the crime next month.
Don’t think for one second that I don’t appreciate how lucky I am to have family in the Philippines, meaning I can visit every couple of years or so without it being too expensive. Last summer I also won a holiday at a Jet2 blogger event which I am going on in June, so that is lucky as well. I have also booked a trip to Milan with Tanya from GlamGlitzGloss. I’d like to try and squeeze in another weekend away. Someone I work with just came back from Nice and it looks beautiful. I’m sure I can fit in a Bank Holiday trip with the rest of my annual leave.
Saving some monies
I am terrible with money. I will freely admit this. If I have it, I will spend it. Because I still have that safety net of living with my Mum, I tend to just spend what I have, which I am aware is really stupid. All of my friends are super-sensible with their money and I’m really jealous of them, so this year I want to start saving properly. It’s disappointing to know if I had just been a bit strict with myself, I probably could have flown to the Philippines business class last year, but instead I are through half my wages and Uber’d through the other half. If you see me spending money on food in 2020, give me a slap. Permission is granted.
To do some more freelance work
I do a bit of freelance work managing social media accounts and writing content, but that isn’t what I actually do for my day job. I work for an advertising agency as a Senior Activation Executive. Basically this means I buy advertising space on websites and Youtube on behalf of my clients, utilising a certain type of tool called a DSP. I have always felt lucky to have been able to learn this, and I should do more with it. The bidding process is the same on Facebook and Instagram so I could be helpful to smaller companies who want to run ads but don’t have the money to pay a big agency.
Have you checked out my UK blogging opportunities page yet? This is where I collate as many job listings as possible for bloggers. PR’s and brands can add free of charge.
