Have you ever heard the saying that “stupidity is the same thing over and over and expecting the same result”? Well, this can be applied to your dating life. If you have been on the dating scene a while, it can be easy to get a bit complacent. But if you are looking at the same sites, for the same sort of person, and not having any luck, do you not think it might be time to change things up a bit? There are so many different and varied options when it comes to dating now, you really can find something for any niche. Why not use this to your advantage and take the opportunity to shake up your search for love?
Change the dating site you are using…
We all get lured in to the expensive advertising national dating apps use. The thing is about the “swipe left” strategy is that you really do not get a lot of information about the person. Your entire decision is based on if you find them physically attractive or not. If you use a local dating site, like, for example, Aberdeen Dating Site, you’ll find the profiles are a it more in-depth, even the free ones. This will help you to learn a but more about your potential partner before you go on a date, and at a minimum at least the conversation will flow.
Is your “type” holding you back?
Everyone has a “type” and there have been numerous studies into why this is and what causes people to create a certain “love map”. But there are still instances where people can totally surprise you. I have friends who are married to people exactly like them, and friends in relationships where they are chalk and cheese. The point is, if you are going to instantly dismiss someone because they do not seem like your “type”, you might end up dismissing someone that when you got to know them better, turned out to be EXACTLY like the person you envisioned being your partner. Granted, you may have to kiss a few frogs first, but it is worth it in the long run, right?
Push your own boundaries on dates
Did you know that is you get your adrenaline pumping on the first date, it can actually make you feel more attracted to the person? Ok, I’m not suggesting you go bungee jumping on the first date or anything, but are you going to the same old places? What do you realistically think you are going to learn about someone sitting in a pub or at a dinner? Why not pick out an activity like a cooking class or a pottery class? First of all, you might learn that your date has an amazing talent, and if not, you’ll be able to laugh at how bad you are. A lot of people also do not drink nowadays, so an activity is a great first date.
