Dating in Lockdown: Find the one TODAY

*This post was sponsored by Gloucestershire dating.

The uncertainty of the lockdown is, I personally think, one of the worst things about it. If we were having a really strict lockdown and the government said “you know what we’ll finish lockdown on x day of x month” it would be a lot easier to cope with. We are, however, in a better position than last year. We have a vaccine now, and whatever your personal thoughts are on it, at least is it going to help reduce the spread. If you are looking for love, you can STILL do this during the lockdown, and you could even end up finding THE ONE. I’ve made you a list of the ways you can find love in a lockdown.

Local dating sites

Local dating sites always seem to get overshadowed by terrible platforms that have a bad user experience and are full of boys looking for one night stands. I’m not a swiper. It isn’t in my nature to just look at someone’s looks and decide whether or not to like them on looks. On these big, “popular” national dating sites as well, I always seem to match with people I really like and they are miles away. That’s why you are more likely to find me on something like a dating agency Gloucestershire where I can find out some stuff about my potential date. The good thing about this as well is that if you have a mutual hobby you already have something to talk about on the date. YES! You CAN date in a pandemic and I will tell you how.

Pandemic date ideas

Your dating life doesn’t have to take much of a hit during the lockdowns, even if they are strict ones. Most people nowadays have a video phone. You can have a video-call date and there are a huge number of things you can do on the call to make it feel like a REAL date. Think about where your favourite first-date venue is? It can either be a walk, or the cinema or the pub or a restaurant. These can be re-done as a video call. A walk is pretty hard to do but once the lockdown measures are lifted a little bit you might be able to walk together. If not, you can make all of the dates video dates. I had a great video date at the start of the first lockdown. We found a recipe and fried chicken together. Me and the guy didn’t work out, but it was a great video date.

Write love letters.

Say for example you have found someone you are quite into on a site like Gloucestershire dating site and you’ve already tried a couple of video date ideas. What can you do next to make NOT “seeing each other” more interesting? Well, I like to write old-fashioned letters. I’m not even joking. I’m currently writing to a guy I was speaking to from one of the bigger dating sites who lives near Kensington. It’s so cool to get post!
