I don’t know about anyone else, but I find that summer draws to a close more quickly every year. As soon as your August bank holiday BBQ is over you are digging around the back of your wardrobe for those jumpers as the commute has got a little bit chilly all of a sudden. The great thing about autumn is that it is a genuinely wonderful time to be dating someone. There are loads of fun activities you can do with a date, whether you have just started seeing someone or you have been together a long time.

Autumn dating ideas  – go for an autumn walk

Although the nights are getting darker and the weather is getting slightly colder, autumn is a wonderful time to wrap up and go for a walk in your local country park. Often cited as the most “colourful” season, autumn offers pleasant views of burnt orange leaves on the trees and the ground. If the weather is dry, you could probably still get away with taking a picnic. There is definitely a grace period where we get the benefit of autumn without the cold and wet weather, so take advantage of it as much as you can.

Autumn dating ideas – get a pumpkin spice latte

Have you ever heard the phrase “if you can’t beat them, join them”? Well, this is probably the best way to feel about all the autumn and winter drinks that coffee chains sell. As much as you try to avoid them, once you try them you realise they are quite nice and you have been sucked in. What a lovely thing to do on a Sunday afternoon with your date. This can be especially nice if you find a smaller, more intimate coffee shop that isn’t part of a large chain. If you live in a town that has a bit of countryside, you will probably find that a lot of country pubs now do autumn coffee flavours too. Even if you are sex dating, you can still enjoy fun activities together.

Autumn dating ideas – go to a pumpkin patch

You might not have kids, or any legitimate reason to go to a pumpkin patch, but that still doesn’t stop it being fun. Pumpkin picking is about the activity and not the end result. This is again, another great way to enjoy all of the wonderful colours and smells of the great outdoors during the autumn season. You could even extend your date at a pumpkin patch by going home and carving the pumpkins afterwards. Just because you are participating in adult dating, this does not mean that

Autumn dating ideas – see some fireworks

People probably thing of November as winter, but let’s be honest, the start of November is basically autumn. Especially when you compare it to January and February. Going to a firework display is so much more than just seeing some fireworks. Anywhere putting on a firework display usually also has a funfair and food and drink stalls, so you could really make a night of it.

  1. All these reasons (bar the coffee) are why I love autumn. All of these are great ideas for mate dates too, which is even better! Thanks for sharing. You’ve got me all excited for the rush of orange to appear now!
